I was waiting more from the hotel… I don’t think the pictures shows exactly what the hotel offer… specially the pools…
Me and my boyfriend had a very bad situation.
We went to a tour in Santorini and the Ferry boat was late on the way back. Our guide called the hotel asking for a late dinner for us and the hotel said they would provide.
When we reached in the hotel we saw that they put our food ON THE FLOOR, close to the room door.
I made a mistake (I assume) I wanted hang out that thing saying “ make up my room” but I choose the wrong side and put there “ do not disturb “
But if our guide called the hotel saying that we were in Santorini of course they could go into the room to put our food in the fridge or keep in at the bar…
I went down and talked to a guy in the repception showed him the picture I attached here and he answered me that was my mistake putting the “do not disturb” at the door and he could do nothing for us, we should eat that food that was on the floor 😱😡. No excuses for this…
On the day after I talked to the manager and she apologized and gave us a voucher for the lunch.
We apologized but I will never forget this situation…

On arrival we were disappointed with our ‘cool’ room as it was too small for a stay longer than a few days - small wardrobe, cramped bathroom, only 4 drawers and limited surface areas. We upgraded to a bigger room - we were offered an available suite, to meet our expectations of a 5* holiday. Breakfast was basic, even coffee was self-service. Fruit selection was only melon or sliced oranges! We were pleased we only paid for B&B. The Yacht beach bar has closed down and some of the A la carte restaurants weren’t open every day, even in peak season. We enjoyed eating at local friendly family-run tavernas on the doorstep, very cheaply. Lots of local supermarkets close by to buy drinks and snacks for the day. Good choice of pools and excellent beach facilities opposite. DJ by main pool played relaxing techno some days and one day (24th July) some aggressive obscenities & lyrics derogatory to women. People complained & we didn’t hear him the next day! Complex was clean, but showers need to be cleaned regularly to remove sand from the beach which could transfer to the pools. Maid service was sporadic- sometimes late morning, but mainly 3-4pm. We were quoted €190 for late check out (only 5 hours) or €30 to use a room for 45mins to use the shower before our flight, bookable in slots. Because we had paid considerably extra for an upgrade, we didn’t pay for anything extra. Great location if you’re looking for quiet holiday on the beach.

Such a great place to stay - relaxing, never short of a sunbed, beach was right over the road. There were 5 pools (one being inside at the spa) the spa area was great and massage was so relaxing. The relaxing pool was our favourite. The food from the stone was so tasty and so were the cocktails. Just overall a great stay here. We went bed and breakfast the breakfast was a buffet with lots of options from cooked breakfast to cereals, meats and cheeses and pastries lots of options. We tried the buffet tea one night which was good, there was gyros, pizza, salad, meats etc. There were also some really nice restaurants nearby you could go to for dinner the area was lovely with lots of bars and shops nearby too!

Wir sind mit unserer Tochter angereist und sind komplett enttäuscht. Unser Zimmer war schmutzig und musste mehrfach nachgereinigt werden, die Bettwäsche im Zimmer meiner Tochter war dreckig. Unsere Zimmer waren insgesamt runter gewohnt und renovierungsbedürftig. Auf unserer Terrasse mit Pool wuchs das Unkraut gut 15 cm hoch und vom Vorgänger hatten wir noch Nüsse und Keksreste auf der Terrasse. Unschön. Das Essen war sehr auf englische Gäste ausgelegt und für uns einfach ecklig. Wir sind schlussendlich dann fast täglich auswärts essen gegangen, wo wir noch andere Gäste trafen. Die vorgegebene Kleiderordnung wurde auch nicht eingehalten, was uns eigentlich schon egal war. Das Fitnessstudio war eine Katastrophe. Vieles an Geräten war defekt, es gab nur eine Matte für alle-keine Desinfektion. Schlussendlich haben wir uns in ein externes Studio eingebucht, wo wir auch wieder auf andere Gäste trafen. Wir haben wirklich mehr erwartet. An allen Pools waren morgens um 6:30 Uhr bereits alle Liegen reserviert, was wohl ein allgemeines Problem des Hotels sein soll laut TUI. Nicht unser Problem. Ich möchte mir im Urlaub keinen Wecker stellen müssen, nur um eine Liege am Pool zu erhaschen. Alles in allem ein 3-Sterne Hotel..da müsste man nicht meckern, selbst bei 4 Sternen hätte ich nur mit den Zähnen geknirscht. Die Außenanlagen sind schön und der Blick vom Restaurant ist wunderschön.

Arrived for one night as we are staying around the corner and the hotel looked lovely online. On arrival the ladies at reception were not welcoming at all. Got to our room there was ants crawling around in the bathroom, and the aircon wasn’t working, I called reception to tell them and had to make a second call as it still wasn’t working later on in the day bearing in mind it’s 40 degrees today! We’ve just came back from dinner and asked reception for help as the room is not comfortable and they were really really rude to me, telling me again someone will come but they haven’t, no one has apologised at all I’ve just been told to go back to my room and wait when it’s now 10pm!!!!!!!

This is a great hotel. Yes- it’s big so expect to do some walking to get around it. All the staff have been v helpful and polite. We only booked for breakfast which was great- lots of choice and lovely seating outside, with great views- why would you want to sit inside?? We had a lovely room with a great balcony overlooking the main pool and sea. The room was cleaned daily and sheets and towels changed regularly. We tended to stay around the relaxing pool which was cleaned every day, even the big double beds were hosed down. There were sometimes younger people making some noise/ chatting loudly etc but come on - first world problems?!! The evening bar was slow for service so we only went once. I think they have new staff. There are lovely bars and tavernas within easy walking distance if you want a change. I’m not sure why some people complain about everything especially when they’ve been here before I would definitely come back. The only issue we had was the high tax we had to pay on arrival but that’s not the hotel’s fault. (€15 a night).

Just had a very enjoyable 5 days at this hotel as a family (with grown up kids) Reception was excellent (Zizi in partciular was lovely, and seemed to be there at nearly all hours!) Pools could be a little busy, but we spent most of our time on the beach (and never had a problem getting a sunbrella & beds, which are included for the hotel) We enjoyed the DJ at the pool (and in the evening) - the music wasn't too loud, and he certainly seemed to be enjoying himself. The rooms are a little small, and certainly lack storage space for clothes, but we didn't plan to spend much time in the room Food was perfectly adequate for the breakfast (I'm vegetarian, and had plenty of choices) - but we did go out for dinner most nights. Drinks service could be rather slow in the bar, but I did get the impression that they had a number of new people (it is perhaps early in the season) Overall, extremely happy with the hotel, and would happily go back there again.

Having read some of the reviews I was a bit nervous and hesitant about arriving at The Island Hotel but we are fairly relaxed and booked it anyway as we are pretty chilled and thought it’ll be sunny and relaxing. I understand what people are saying negatively but it’s definitely dramatic and it’s not that bad. The pools are clean and there’s plenty of loungers. The hotel itself is beautiful and has amazing sunset views every night. The rooms are ok but basic. The food is a bit dull but it’s fine and water isn’t included in half board but there’s a shop that you can buy on the premises for €1:50 It does feel a bit money grabby and the staff aren’t particularly friendly. The beach is nice we spent most of our days here. The island restaurant across the road is amazing - would recommend. Overall , I wouldn’t go back but it’s fine and pleasant if you’re happy to do your own thing and not expect a lot from the staff but honestly it’s fine.
